Gathering Part 2 (Electric)

The Saturday evening of the Gathering at the The Arena, Venue Cymru, Llandudno, N Wales was excellent. The evening started with the support band Westway led by original Alarm bassist Eddie Mcdonald who play (For charitable reasons only) music of the Clash which got the audience in the right mood for the main event Mr Mike Peters & Co.

Brilliant apart from the fact that four hours of standing on a concrete floor plays havoc with the Pieman and his highly toned physique! New Tunes, Old Tunes and lots of noise. One the highlights was the move to acoustic stage in the middle of the set and some fine tunes therein. The liquid refreshment was overpriced as usual but the venue is very good and the parking excellent. No sign of theTrain driver and apologises to the Viking on the rock during the performance of " The Rock".

Gathering Part 1 (Acoustic)

As is our custom we headed for Llandudno last Friday for the first night of the Alarm/Mike Peters Gathering. The first night as ever was in the round and completely acoustic.

An excellent evening with some outings for a number of rarely played old songs and an absolutely cracking updated version of one the pieman's favourites "Across The Border".

Hit And Run

Along with the Pieman and the Dragonslayer, new England manager Fabio Capello went to see the mighty Blues be robbed by Chelsea in the second leg of the Carling Cup Semi-final.

As he arrived he nearly ran over the Pie Munching duo as they entered the ground! The atmosphere was fantastic, reminescent of the European Cup Winners Cup Semi final match against Bayern Munich. Unfortunately the reault was not to be the same this time.

Ups and Downs Of Shed Life

Saturday presented us with an opportunity to visit our good friends in Madeley, Stafordshire who as you can see live in a shed in need of repair.

An excellent time was spent catching up on news, exchanging presents, laughing with Mark & Judith Shed not forgetting Thomas, Samuel and Matthew Shed. Pleased to see Judith shed is making good progress after pre christmas surgery and hopefully will be back to fine form asap.

That was the good and the bad was the the afternoon spent at the stadium of incredulity as the mighty Everton succumbed to the the dogged resistance of 1st Division Oldham Athletic in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. A perfect day spoilt by one piece of skill the like of which nobody from Oldham will see for a long time. As we arrived the omens were not good. The match kick off had been delayed for 1/2 an hour as Goodison Park Road was closed for fire engines to attend an on fire Chip shop.

The game itself was frustrating to say the least with Everton battering Oldham but with little effect. The Yak was brought on towards the end but it wasn't to be. Frustrations boiled over at the end of the match with scuffles between Everton fans. You can tell how bad it was when that starts happening.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to one and all from the Pie Tribe. In an effort to overcome the indulgencies of the festive period a stroll along the beach was prescribed.

New Year's eve had seen the pie tribe at an all you can eat restaurant buffet which for some is always a recipe for disaster. So off to New Brighton beach to walk off the excess. Along the way we bumped into Mrs Pieman colleague with husband, Fiona & Johno Lindt.

An agreeable time was had by all before heading home for the beached whale on the sofa impression and dreams of Pies.
