As a birthday present for daughter Pie Student two tickets for Quofest were obtained and what an excellent evening was had. Ably supported by Kim Wilde and Roy Wood Rock & Roll Band the evening was a cracker.
Ms Wilde was interesting and even did a version of Plastic Bertrands " Ca Plane Por Moi" which was welcome but a bit of a surprise nonetheless. Her backing band included leather kilted (Not an outfit for the shy) bass player Nick Beggs from Kajagoogoo!
Mr Wood is a genius, brilliant and funny. With songs like I can Hear the Grass Grow, Flowers In The Rain, Fire Brigade, Blackberry Way, See My Baby Jive .... he was great.
The Quo were brilliant, loud and entertaining strolling through their back catalogue from the past right up to the present. Some highlights for the Pie Tribe were Wanderer, Paper Plane, In The Army, Down Down, Whatever You Want, Rockin All Over The World, Caroline, Living on an Island, Rain, What Your Proposin.......
I think Miss Student Pie had a great time and I hope we get to see them again.
