Following on from enjoying Shed hospitality and birthday celebrations in Madeley the Pie tribe moved onto Shugborough Hall just past Stafford to meet up with the Cray Tribe. This was a suitable halfway meeting point to join up, exchange Christmas presents (!), enjoy each others company and have a grand day out.
The weather was great and for a first time Shugborough visitor it was pretty good. We would definitely go back as we ran out of time without even going in the main house or around the gardens. The weather was great and very conducive to just chilling out even if the wait for a sandwich was an hour!!
One of the features of some areas, in particular the servants quarters,was the staff dressing appropriately and only speaking/behaving as the character they were dressed as. Try as I might the cook would not let me taste the huge Rabbit Pie in the kitchens!
